Committee on Culture and Education

Dear delegates,

Education is a very important issue in the European Union and therefore it is one of the four topics that will be discussed within a committee in the upcoming national Model European Parliament session in Bregenz.

Enclosed are a few links, which should help you to prepare yourselves for this MEP session. You do not have to learn these by heart, the links provided by us are here to make the preparation work easier for you, but you are free to use other sources of information as well.

Knowledge of the key terms, organisations, projects and initiatives of the EU concerning higher education are expected of you, in order to enable efficient committee work and interesting discussions with input from all delegates. Please bear in mind that it is significant to know what exactly the European Union is capable or not capable of to change in the sector of education.

We have also enclosed several informative articles and statistics for you to use for preparation, during the committee work and in the General Assembly. Please try to avoid political campaigns about education, as the MEP is a politically free institution, and always try to stay objective with your approach to the topic.

Moreover, MEP work is done at the assumption of an unlimited budget, therefore you must not worry about costs while preparing and collecting ideas.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us. We are all very much looking forward to meeting you in January. We wish you Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Kind regards and best wishes,

Your Committee Chairing Team
